Rocky Mountain National Park
The Park is one of the most visited national parks in the US. The picture perfect mountain peaks, lakes, forests, and diverse amount of wildlife is something you won’t want to miss. Be aware that summer is the busy season due to the warmth which opens up the range of activities including hiking, animal watching, fishing, horseback riding and rock climbing to just to name a few.
Durango and the Silverton Nrrow Gauge Railway
The Railway is one of the town’s main tourist attractions due to it’s rich history. The train runs day trips up the valley from Durango to the old high mountain mining town of Silverton. You can take a one-hour tour of the D&SNG yard, machine shop, roundhouse, car shop, rolling stock, and museum to learn about the history and see how the railroad operated then and now.
Garden of the Gods
Garden of the Gods Park is a breathtaking natural wonder that will surely making lasting memories for you and your family. It is a registered National Natural Landmark in Colorado making it a very popular destination. The views from enormous sandstone rocks are truly one of a kind. he park is one of the most photographed views in the state so make sure to have your camera ready. There are also regular tours given by local experts via trolley, jeep and segway.
